Soblu Music Group is proud to introduce Urban Pop Artist, Chris, to the music industry. Chris, a native of Washington, D.C., embodies a unique sound which is showcased on her debut EP, “Spread the Love,” releasing today (11/11/11). A refreshing blend of genres ranging from Dance to R&B to Pop, Chris has crafted an introductory project that truly showcases her versatile sound. When asked about why she chose to release her debut EP on the significant date of 11.11.11, Chris states, “It’s an exciting date! There won’t be another 11/11 for another 100 years and so many weddings are happening 11/11, so love is in the air! This project is very important to me so I thought it was fitting, a picture perfect debut date.”

When you press play on “Spread the Love” you will be greeted by the percussion-infused up-tempo lead single from the EP, “Yea Ok.” The other records featured on the EP are titled “Swag Is Up”, “Ask Me”, “808”, “Put It On Me”, & “#LEZGO”. The slow R&B groove of “Ask Me” sets it up as a favorite for listeners and a clear indication of the capacity this young star has to experiment with a number of different genres. With this project, Chris is definitely striving to prove to people that the love is still paramount, it lives in the music and will continue to grow once you chose to spread it to others.

When asked who her favorite artist is or who she is most often compared to, Chris immediately states, “Aaliyah! She is one of my favorite performers and I have always loved the writing and production on her albums. She was able to make urban, percussive music that was still popular and could crossover. Another favorite of mine is Janet Jackson. She can do a song in any genre and it makes sense. That flexibility and freedom of artistry makes her really timeless in my eyes. I also like what I am hearing from a lot of the ladies at the top of the Pop game right now. Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Ke$ha, etc. I hear a lot of great music coming out and it is really inspiring.” With a list consisting of such talented women, Chris is destined to have success as she has open ears, an open mind and a strong desire to explore and experience a world filled of ever-changing music.

Spread the Love” is available for FREE on Chris’ website, www.chrisworldmusic.com.

Greetings! Luxembourg here,  and my colleague and I recently had the absolute pleasure of interviewing the fabulous Fefe Dobson. It was such an exciting opportunity, I was an instant fan of Fefe early in 2006. (totally dressed as her for ‘celebrity day’ in high school. GUSH.)  We had a few minutes on the phone to discuss her love for her fans, her new album Joy, and her video “Stuttering.”

If there’s anything Dobson can say about her fans, it’s that she loves the consistent interaction. She wants to maintain the personal relationship with her fans as much as possible, and social networking, such as twitter has really opened that door for her. Fefe’s ready to expand her audience and do tons of shows, ready to show the world Joy, her second album with Island/DefJam.

When asked about her video “Stuttering,” she admitted this was the first video she really had creative control on. The director kept in frequent contact with Dobson, discussing new ways to surprise the viewers to make it completely unpredictable. Once presented to the executives, they were even shocked at the conclusion’s twists. And with over a million views so far, (including our own!) its quickly becoming popular. I wish Ms. Dobson all the success possible with Joy, I look forward to owning it soon!
