Is social media replacing the celebrity publicist?

Of course not, on the contrary! Publicists are excited about the opportunities social media outlets such as Facebook, twitter, instagram and tumbler offer to their clients. Social media has become such a powerful tool that Publicists and apprentices alike are finding creative ways to acclimate such sites into PR campaigns. We encourage clients to be more active on them. We urge them to promote new projects, events, and increase awareness on anything that raises positive attention for the client’s benefit.

A Great example of when social media goes right is Kanye West’s tweets announcing the launch of his design company. With a couple of keys on his smart-phone West had the web abuzz. He notified millions of like-minded people of the speculated groundbreaking, available job positions, his aspirations for the company, the premise behind it and much more. Although he made theofficial announcement before his PR rep could, this does not take away or undermine their duties one bit. Publicists notify the media via an official press release or statement and the media notifies the public. These steps before social media were and in some cases still are very time consuming, taking attention away from more important duties. However, now celebrities are able to spread the word and get the ball rolling within seconds.

There are also examples of when Kanye needed the support of his PR team with his many “What the hell was he thinking” moments. Celebrities for the most part know what not to say in public forums. The reality is they are human. Their expertise consists of their particular talent(s) and not necessarily how to maintain their direct relationships with the public and the public’s interest in their personal lives. The same social media outlets used to share great news are also used to issue apologies and thanks to the warp speed of cyber space these apologies normally come before their PR rep can issue an official statement on their behalf. This is actually perceived as more “sincere”. Let’s be honest who actually takes an apology from an unknown person behind the curtain seriously? Most statements issued on behalf of someone are perceived as very detached and disingenuous. Social media is removing this cold element and although this alone will raise the question, “If celebs can now directly apologize on their own, why do they need Publicists?”

Answer, social media will never replace the human element and physical work that goes into maintaining the lucrative brands developed around celebrities. Social media is praised for its fast delivery and ability to connect the entire world with one press of the “Enter” key. It displays the exact reasons why more then ever publicists are needed to maintain the overall stability of quality information that upholds the public’s interest in the clients.

Eleven 11 Media Group, Inc. is a Houston, Texas based media company specializing in urban content. On April 15, 2012, Eleven 11 is launching its IPTV Channel eleven11media.tv with a full programming grid at the beginning of the second quarter.

For the first time ever, viewers will get an opportunity to experience Reality TV like never before, through the eyes of Eleven11media.tv. The programming will consist primarily of organic reality shows like: “Becoming The Ultimate Player” classic reality TV hosted by Max Julien aka Goldie of” The Mack”. One house, one prize, and 11 contestants, which is the recipe for a whole lot of drama!

“Pole Dreams” is a look into the lives and aspirations of five strippers living together and pooling their resources to achieve their long-term dreams. “Bi-Polar” is a take off of “The Odd Couple” with an urban spin, featuring opposites Kwame Smalls (from I love New York and I Love Money fame) and Bad Girl, Stasi Quinn. The two are paired together in a no-holds-barred mandatory living arrangement which is sure to keep viewers interested and laughing.

In addition to these shows, Eleven 11 will offer a plethora of blog video shows, talk shows, viral video shows, news shows and, of course, music video shows for their viewers’ entertainment and enjoyment. Never content to rest on its laurels, Eleven 11 Media Group is proud to announce the upcoming release of its first full-length feature film “Reality Movie”. Reality Movie is a long overdue spoof on Reality TV that only someone out-of-the-box like Eleven 11 Media can provide. Reality Movie is a-laugh-a-minute and features some of the most recognizable faces of Reality TV. You will recognize Monica “Danger” (For The Love of Ray J), Erika Lynn (Bad Girls 5), Stasi Quinn (Bad Girls 7), Judi (Bad Girls 7), Tiara (Bad Girls 7), Jackie Dafonseca aka Doll (Real Chance of Love 2), Kitti Kouture (Model), Sidney Lauren (Model), Kwame “it” Smalls ( I love New York, I love Money 4), Oran Juice Jones (Platinum Recording Artist) and many more.

Eleven 11 will chronicle the adventures of Ray Michaels aka Metro (Billy Sorrells), a has-been rap artist recently released from jail at the behest of “The Man” (Clifton Powell) to host a reality dating show. Things become interesting and treacherous as a subtle rivalry with Metro’s older brother Lil Metro (Kwame Smalls) takes a turn for the worst. Did we mention Clifton Powell is starring as “THE MAN”?!!

Reality Movie jabs at some of the most memorable and lovable aspects of the Reality TV culture including a sex tape, lots of girl-on-girl fights and of course nonstop laughs. This movie has it all, and who is better than Eleven 11 Media to tell the back-story of Realitydom in a fun filled movie. When asked about all the excitement going on at Eleven 11 Media, CEO “Kennyboy” only had this to say “We are constantly looking for talent and ideas, so stay tuned.”

We sit down for a talk with hip-hop group Young N’ Reckless. With the smash record buzzing “Put Her on The Team” Cacalacky and Jirz are looking to drop some killer projects to keep the momentum going. Linking with them for saidarie.com we speak with Cacalacky on the groups future success, new EP coming, and the reckless hunger they have.

Young N’ Reckless is making some new moves right now, as a new duo talking about the crew, the friendship you two have and what makes it bigger than music?

What makes Young N’ Reckless bigger than just music is the chemistry we have. We aren’t out here selling songs we’re pushing a lifestyle being a free spirit doing what we want to do how we want to and everybody doesn’t have that. Of course when you put music in the mix it’s like the icing on the cake.

Young N’ Reckless, with a name of such sort there has to be a meaning behind it, is it just two hungry cats ready for a take-over or much more than that?

Yeah the name actually stems from a show I’d watch with my grandma early on and it always stuck with me. That’s pretty much how the name came about but restless became reckless by the creation of the group because we were definitely being reckless. So yeah its two hungry cats ready for a take-over but to put it in perspective taking over would just be getting our feet wet.

Hip-Hop has produced many groups throughout the years, is there a particular group Young N’ Reckless like to model themselves after?

Yeah no doubt just at first thought G-Unit comes to mind. That’s a group that helped shaped the way we move as a cohesive unit.

Of course you guys have a movement right now so talk about what you dudes have with your current company and the progress you both hope to make?

We have a few things cooking right now. We are currently putting together a project entitled “Imagine That” that will be an Ep. Then either before or soon after another mixtape will follow. We are definitely hoping to shake things up this year with everything we are gearing up to do. More music, shows, videos and people will be aware of whatever we are doing.

The new single “Put Her On The Team” is doing very well online and receiving great feedback from DJ’s and more. Explain the origins of the record and why you think it gaining such a positive response to the public?

Soon as it came on we thought “Yo this sounds like a strip club so we just went in and painted that picture”. I think it’s getting that positive response because it’s just an all-around feel good record. Then when you factor in just the beat being catchy from the gate it’s a recipe for a dope song.

Even the follow up record “Role Play” is hot too, I get the feeling that Young N’ Reckless loves to make music for the ladies?

No doubt we love making music for the ladies because the ladies love us. We just showing fans of our music we can expand and make songs that they can have a good time too without having to compromise our artistic integrity and “Role Play” is a great example.

Well you know for huge success in the music business it all about making hit records as well, so you dudes just aim straight for the radio huh?

Naw we don’t necessarily aim for the radio. It’s just the way radio is set up now we know when we have a record that has that radio gene. But the songs creation is something we have to feel if it fits radio then that’s even better.

So are there any tours on the way or up and coming shows. Also outside of that is there a new project on the way and if so give me the details?

Yeah we are definitely looking to tour in the spring so people can be looking forward to that. As mentioned “Imagine That” which is a an Ep will be released in April more than likely around memorial day. Check for that as well as “Relentless” another upcoming Young N Reckless mixtape.

Young N’ Reckless the new duo is about to make some major noise, can you give me reasons as to why new fans should check you guys out and also a final message for the fans?

Yeah no doubt basically its more than just a group we’re more a feeling and that’s what our music embodies different feelings painted in lyrics. No holds bar when it comes to us you get it all and its 24/7. With that said people can check us out on Twitter.com/YoungN_Reckless and just keep their ears open its def bout to be a situation soon.

Audio Stepchild is a hip-hop collective that initially formed in Louisville, Kentucky. They released their debut (and only) album “Land of the Snake Charmer” over a decade ago through Houston, Texas based record label BCD Music Group, which at the time was co-owned by Suave House Records founder Tony Draper.

Surprisingly, one of the greatest artists of all-time,Prince, showed up on the Audio Stepchild album with the song “When Will We Be Paid?” – - a song originally recorded by The Staple Singers. “Land of the Snake Charmer” also featured platinum producer Joe Traxx and H-Town legend Papa Rue who is known for his work with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, 8Ball & MJG, Lil Flip, Curren$y, Lil Keke, Juvenile and others.

After a 10 year hiatus, Audio Stepchild is back in business and is gearing up for their new release titled “Every Coincidence is Significant” in early 2012. No track-listing for this album has surfaced yet, however, Audio Stepchild was most recently featured with the multi-platinum and Grammy-Nominated group Nappy Roots.

Southern California emcee, Kornbread (1/3 of the hit Hip-Hop group, Those Chosen), has released his first solo venture titled “Strays” LP, produced entirely by fellow So Cal native, J. Bizness. This amazing project is a view into the mindset of an individual who chooses to make their own path in life. The decisions that we make determine our progression or regression regardless of other people’s opinions of our circumstances. Strays embodies the trials and triumphs of many aspects of everyday living told from a lyrically insightful point of view. Definitely worth taking a listen to!
